- I'm trying to understand the internal workings of cable modems.
-
- In particular I'm trying to gauge the need for nonvolatile memory (what
- for? how much? how fast? etc..) and details about necessary AGC
- circuitry. I'd also like to know what sort of periphery circuitry could
- be combined with EEPROM and AGC/signal conditioning circuitry into a
- single package that would be of interest to cable modem manufacturers. My
- company is the industry leader for E2 technology and I've been charged
- with understanding this emerging marketplace so that we can define next
- generation ICs for these customers.
-
- I'd like to learn a little more about these requirements before I travel
- to visit customers, so I'd appreciate any information that you can pass
- along. I'm finding it difficult to get access to cable modem
- specs/publications on such short notice. thanks in advance.
